Life forms on this planet are wildly improbable,compare
a Giraffe with a duck billed platypus
and you can see what i mean!
That is the path evolution took on earth,
on another planet it will almost certainly be
vastly different again
As on earth ,there maybe life that lives in an aquatic environment and is intelligent but if it is streamlined for that,it can not utilize energy.
Dolphins are intelligent mammals that once lived on land but some millions of years ago returned to the sea,and have remained largely the same for thousands of years for that reason.
There are several assumptions that we can make,about intelligent life forms,
that it will evolve in a gas environment and have
some form of manipulative limbs.
That it will have mastered some form of energy similar to fire,
that evolution has put it in a position to remake it`s
planet`s environment as we have done on earth.
Once set on an increasingly technological society and with some form of fast communication system.
It will,as we have done start to explore it`s own star system.
and you can see what i mean!

Alien life forms are not, for me, an issue I look into detail. This does not mean I contest them. If they exist, surely, it will be on other planets belonging to other star systems. About their forms, I leave them to creative and imaginative persons, because it is a matter of the unknown.

My answer is because we are talking about LIFE and obviously about its evolution!
We, humans, were already considered the most important beings of earth and because of us the earth was on the centre of the Universe too. Actually, we do not have any doubts that theories fall.
Until we know that life is a mistake (even us are a second one), because it goes against the arrow of time (spontaneously everything increases its entropy with time, heading into molecular chaos). That is, LIFE only existed since energy coming from outside (sun, chemical reactions, and so on), but this cannot be spontaneous because it drives to a decrease of entropy.
Hence, based on this concept of LIFE, its existence will be very improbable in any place of universe.
But… we like to continue thinking that dream was the reality, also forgetting that human beings are here because it happened another mistake on the life evolution.
So… we want to continue being the unique or at least the biggest and the better!!
And if some alien life forms enter to our “house” … ?
